In truth, I actually prefer not to refer to fanbases as any generalized term because I prefer not to generalize groups of people based on what shows they like. One can argue “but all it means is that you like the show” all they like. People can and do use such terms as a means to generalize, and there are those who use and like such terms who will use them to try to define what it means to be a fan. I just wanna watch cartoons ^^;

I’m not a fan of the word “bro”, which means I’m not terribly fond of the word “Brony”. I understand the desire for a sense of community, however, so I will respectfully refer to the MLP fanbase as “Pegasisters”.
I apologize to any fans with a preference for Earth or Unicorn ponies.
Finally saw Star Trek 2! Click the read more button to see my spoiler-filled thoughts!
You’re assuming I intended it to be read as “hee hee”. The intent was closer to “heh heh”.
I remember a professor talking about incentivizing good performance, and gave tipping waiters more or less based on performance as an example. She specifically mentioned tipping less to waiters who referred to her and her group as “you guys”, as she considered it impolite.
I asked her if she explained her dislike of being referred to in that way to the waiters. She did not. She just got annoyed about an informal greeting and tipped poorly, the waiters never knowing what they did wrong.Of course, this is a classic example of me getting the point and nitpicking the hell out of the example, but COME ON.
Maybe this is why some teachers looked apprehensive when they saw my hand raised…
*Snort* I would constantly pester teachers about stuff until I understood it. Most of them thought it was cool I wanted to understand better, but sometimes they got annoyed with me for asking questions that made them actually have to derail from their prepared speech.
The worst was my Algebra II teacher, who didn’t want to give me permission to take pre-calc over the summer because I “asked a lot of questions and didn’t seem to get it.” Mom shot that one down pretty quick by pointing out the fact that I never got below a 98% on any of his tests. Shockingly, asking all those questions actually helped me understand!
Sometimes I wondered if he was just bitter I made him prove math was something anyone can do, and not his own personal magic trick to perform before the class.
This reblog is totally worth a reblog.

Stories about animals or little kids who are all by themselves and think an inanimate thing is their friend because they don’t know any better make me cry forever.
This is why I openly weep whenever I read Calvin And Hobbes.
It’s been suggested that Bruce Wayne watched Sailor Moon. Imagine if he’d been inspired by the show when designing his Batman costume. And if you just pictured “Tuxedo Batman”, you’re doing it wrong.
Mighty Switch Force for 3DS is pretty darn good for six dollars, but what it mostly does is make me want a more in-depth platform shooter.
I’m a “I need evidence before I’ll definitively say that a thing is real, but I’m open to pretty much anything being possible” sort of person. I won’t simply accept anecdotal evidence of the supernatural, but I’m not going to run around saying “that’s impossible”, either.
Well, generally speaking. I might call something very specific and free of x-factors impossible. 2 + 2 with no additional factors is going to consistently equal 4, after all.
I don’t like the little hand icon for ignoring people on Tumblr. I don’t know what it is about it, but I keep clicking on it when I mean to reply. Thank goodness there’s an “are you sure” check before it goes through >_<
We don’t know that yet! ;)
